This out-and-back is best to traverse during the height of the summer months, and with an elevation gain of 425 feet, kids should have no problem making their way there and back. Mary and Virginia Fallsįor those who want a big payoff on the east side of the park without all of the work when they visit Glacier National Park, the St. At the end, you get gorgeous views of Hidden Lake–and you can continue on down to the lake itself if you are feeling ambitious. Be prepared to see plenty of mountain goats along the way and make sure to have your bear spray handy since there have been plenty of sightings near the trail of momma bears and their cubs. Much of the hike is boardwalk, making it easy to complete with kids or seniors. This is an area where it might be beneficial to take the Glacier National Park shuttle if you can. You’ll want to make sure you get there as early as you can since the Logan Pass parking lot tends to fill up super quickly in the summer. Located at Logan Pass and right past the Logan Pass Visitor Center, the Hidden Lake Overlook trail takes you to the absolutely gorgeous view of Hidden Lake and is known as one of the best hikes in Glacier National Park. Glacier tends to be best when you can get up as early as possible. If you have someone who has limited mobility, then you will want to park in the Avalanche Campground parking lot–just know that it can fill up fast all day long and it can take some time to find a spot if you aren’t one of the first ones in the area. You can access it via the Trail of the Cedars/Avalanche Lake parking lot after the West Entrance and past West Glacier. Offering a canopy of cedar trees and amazing smells, it’s a great introduction to the park. ![]() It’s also wheelchair accessible for much of the trail and perfect for little kids.
